COVID-19 – a word from our CEO
The COVID-19 virus is spreading and while complete countries are going into lockdown, we are trying to continue our services to the best of our ability together with our own staff, business partners and all the resources we have.
Needless to say, that the safety and health of our employees, customers and suppliers is our highest priority. We follow the guidelines of the National Institute for Public Health and Environment but at the same time we have taken additional measures.
• Extra hygiene measures at our locations.
• No access for people from outside the company prior reporting.
• Our locations are equipped with extra disinfectants.
• Our employees are instructed with regards to personal hygiene and how to handle in case of health complains.
• Meetings are postponed and held via other communication channels as much as possible.
• When possible employees are working from home in shifts to secure our continuity towards our clients.
Despite of the all the measures we are taking, we cannot prevent people getting infected and we simply have to deal with the situation. It is amazing to see that especially in these difficult times people are looking after each other and all departments/offices working even more closely together.
The fact that we are getting limited in resources because many airlines are shutting down the passenger flights, terminals are closing their gates, borders are closing and trucks reaching their maximum capacities, ask for creative solutions and planning. Therefore, please try to avoid last minute instructions.
There will be some delays in collections, import formalities at the airports as well as our warehouse import and export procedures however we do everything in our power to limit the temporarily inconvenience.
We will do our best to offer the alternative options and quote accordingly to avoid surprises afterwards.
Besides our two crane barges we have an additional small barge in operation for deliveries within the port of Rotterdam as alternative in case terminal entrance is not allowed by truck. Since every delivery is different, quotations will be provided if circumstances dictates.
Furthermore, we would like to ask your understanding if communication is not always as you are used from us, replies can be a little delayed, but remember we are not operating at full power.
We continue to monitor the situation closely and act accordingly.
Last but not least I would like to say that I am incredible proud of all the people who work to make all the deliveries and keep us running.
Trust having you informed accordingly.
Yours truly,
Mr. Gerrie Plune
Group CEO
